Somerset's Fire & Ice Festival returns in 2022 with a brand new theme: winter carnival! The theme will weave through the entire event, with carnival-themed ice sculptures lining the streets and classic carnival games for the kids. As always, the bonfire will be roaring, local businesses and crafters will be selling their unique goods, uptown restaurants will be selling comfort food and the night will end with a fantastic firework show.

Winterfest at Greenhouse Winery - Jan. 16

This weekend, Greenhouse Winery is hosting its first-ever Winterfest! The family-friendly event will include live acoustic music, delicious bites from Dead End Diner's food truck, an ice carving demonstration and more. Call and make your reservations early, and you may be able to snag a spot in one of the brand new snow globes!

P.S. Don't forget to bring your Laurel Highlands Pour Tour passport to receive your Greenhouse Winery sticker. Or download the Pour Tour app on your phone and check-in to the limited time Shamrock Shuffle mini-passport!

Allow your kiddos' creativity to flow at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art during their monthly Children's Saturday Studio. This weekend, kids ages 7-10 will follow the lead of a professional art instructor as they use printing processes to create a pop art painting of a pig! If you can't make it this weekend, save the date for next month's event on February 12th.

Little Leaves: Wintertime Wonders at Forbes State Forest - Jan. 14

In the Laurel Highlands, you don't need a snow day to get out and play in the snow! This Friday, take your kiddos ages 0-4 to burn off some energy in Forbes State Forest during their Little Leaves: Wintertime Wonders event. You and your toddler will listen to a story and take a short guided hike, and then you have the freedom to explore the rest of the forest together! Forbes State Forest is also hosting a Hot Cocoa Hike on Saturday morning for adventurers of all ages.
