Do history yourself! Bake in an 1830s oven, cast a lead bullet, wash laundry on a washboard and make your own soap, fire roast coffee beans and try your own coffee, and weave your own textile. Plus tours of the Overholt Homestead and our new educational rye whiskey distillery. And finally, explore our World War II exhibit.
Scratch Living Roastery and Cafe of Scottdale will be joining us and teaching us the historic craft of fire roasted coffee that you can taste and compare to modern coffee. The Coal and Coke Heritage Center of Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus will also be joining us. They will have artifacts and images from their collection to illustrate the importance of weaving in the Connellsville Coke Region and help you hand weave your own textile.
