DIY History invites you to West Overton Village for hands-on and historic fun. More than mere demonstrations, DIY History gives you the chance to interact with real artifacts from our collections! We will have several carefully curated DIY History stations to explore on our grounds. Tour the new exhibition in our museum, enjoy historic recipes in the Summer Kitchen, and experience daily work in the village. No two DIY History programs are the same, ensuring that you’ll learn something new every time. Check back for more details to be announced!
Our neighbors, the Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association, will also be hosting their Ice Cream Summer Fun Festival over the same weekend as our DIY History. On the club grounds, the Festival features antique farm equipment, homemade ice cream using antique churns, tractor rodeo, tractor parades, model train displays, kid's activities, blacksmithing, and more!
The club grounds are just over the hill from West Overton Village. To enjoy activities at both sites over the weekend, visitors can walk a path through the grass, take a shuttle, or drive directly to the club (911 Porter Ave, Scottdale, PA 15683). Incorporated in 1966, the Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association restores and preserves antique farm equipment to educate current and future generations about historic farming tools and methods.
