Grand Opening of the Rostraver Township Historical Society's Mining Museum

June 10, 2024, at 5 PM. the Rostraver Township Historical Society will be opening its doors to the new Rostraver Township Historical Society's Mining Museum. Come out to see one of the largest collections of mining artifacts in Westmoreland County. Learn what it was like to be raised in a coal mining patch and the hardships that the miners faced in the early 20th century. After vising the new mining museum visitors will be invited to a very special mining presentation given by our president John Hepple. The Presentation will be the Port Royal #2 Mine Disaster, that took place on June 10, 1901. Being done on the anniversary of the disaster.  The Presentation will start at 6:30 PM.
