Annual Holiday Market to Be Held Outdoors Nov. 4 at Ligonier Country Market Grounds

Shoppers Encouraged to Also Visit Nearby Craft Sale to Benefit Ligonier Valley High School Air Force JROTC program

Ligonier, Pennsylvania – Oct. 16, 2023 – If you’re looking for unique or one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season, be sure to mark Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, on your calendar. That’s when the Li-gonier Country Market (LCM) will hold its annual Holiday Market.

This year’s event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 4 on the LCM grounds, off West Main Street and Springer Road in Ligonier Township.

The rain-or-shine event will feature some 130 LCM artisans, crafters, farmers, and food proces-sors who must “Make It, Bake It, or Grow It” to participate. Vendors will be set up in the same fashion as a regular Saturday outdoor market and will be offering seasonal holiday items, gifts, and other goods for purchase.

“Our vendors will have an amazing variety of products for sale,” said Cari Frei, the LCM’s exec-utive director. “You’ll find something for everyone on your holiday gift list — from woodcrafts and hand-poured candles, to unique jewelry and locally made clothing. You’ll also find seasonal pro-duce and small-batch foods and beverages perfect for your holiday meal or for a stocking stuffer.”

Frei also noted that the holiday season is a great time to ‘shop local’ and buy directly from LCM vendors who personally produce what they sell.

Tim Schmider — an acoustic country musician from western Pennsylvania — will entertain Holi-day Market shoppers. Children are invited to visit the Market Sprouts Kids’ Club area in the Chil-dren’s Garden to make ornaments for the LCM holiday tree. And representatives of CASA of Westmoreland, Inc. — a volunteer-based organization providing a voice in the courts on behalfof abused and neglected children in Westmoreland County — will be on hand at a market Spe-cial Features tent; CASA representatives will be holding a holiday toy drive and are asking LCM Holiday Market shoppers to donate new packaged toys for area children.

Parking will be available at the LCM site for those with an accessible placard, at The Barn at Li-gonier Valley across Springer Road from the market field, Ligonier Valley High School and Holy Trinity Church. A bus will be provided for FREE and will take shoppers into town upon request.

Early Bird? Check Out the JROTC Benefit Craft Show

Before heading to the LCM Holiday Market on Nov. 4, shoppers are encouraged to visit the nearby Holiday Craft Show to benefit the Ligonier Valley High School Air Force JROTC pro-gram. The annual event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ligonier Valley High School on Springer Road, just a few hundred yards from the LCM field.

Some 50 vendors are expected to participate in this year’s JROTC event, which will include craft and food items for sale, basket raffles, and a 50-50 drawing. JROTC cadets will provide face painting for children in attendance, and local musician Derek Woods will play live music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will help to fund the JROTC’s education and leadership training pro-grams. Parking will be available at Ligonier Valley High School.

“We encourage shoppers to come and spend their entire day in Ligonier on Saturday, Nov. 4,” Frei said. “Bring the entire family and shop at the JROTC show and at the LCM Holiday Market, and then visit our merchants and restaurants in downtown Ligonier to round out the day.”

A free shuttle serving the market grounds, high school, and downtown Ligonier also will be of-fered, adding convenience for shoppers wishing to browse all locations.
