Each season in the Laurel Highlands brings a refreshing change in the weather and fun outdoor adventures. Hit the slopes, stand in a crystal clear trout stream, navigate whitewater, bike one of the best rail-trails in the world, or just be one with nature. No matter the season, there's an activity for you in the Laurel Highlands. 

Spring

Shake off the winter chill, and explore all there is to do in the Laurel Highlands. Relax and unwind in the spring breeze at a winery. Cast your reel on the opening day of trout season, and find the perfect fishing spot. Hike the 70-mile Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, and see the ridgeline from incredible vistas along the way, or pedal the 150-mile Great Allegheny Passage rail trail. Shop local at farmers’ markets, and enjoy other spring activities.

Summer

Soak up the summer sun, cool off in a natural water slide, or make a splash at Idlewild & SoakZone. Plan a family friendly float on the gentle rapids of the Middle Youghiogheny River, or have a heart-pumping adventure on the Lower Yough’s Class III-IV rapids in Ohiopyle. Fall

Take in the autumn colors in the Laurel Highlands. See the fall foliage from a bird’s eye view on a canopy tour at Seven Springs Mountain Resort, or relax with a glass of something sweet in your hands at a local winery. Winter

Test your downhill skiing and snowboarding skills on the steepest slope in PA. Snow tube with the kids at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
