Whitewater Rafting Ohiopyle

Endless outdoor adventure awaits in Fayette County. Ohiopyle State Park greets more than 1.5 million visitors per year with hiking, 11 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, class I-IV whitewater rafting on the Youghiogheny River, natural waterslides, waterfalls, and 20,500 acres of outdoor recreation. Nemacolin Resort offers paintball, climbing wall, ropes courses, zip lines, disc golf, mini golf and more!

Laurel Caverns

Regardless of your age or activity level, there are plenty of things to do in Fayette County. Come to the Fayette County Fair, the largest fair in PA, and go spelunking in the Laurel Caverns, the largest caves in PA. Or, enjoy an award-winning wine with an excellent view at Christian W. Klay Winery, the highest vineyard east of the Rocky Mountains.

Stop in to the Fayette County Visitor Information Center, a gateway to the Laurel Highlands! This seasonal visitor center is conveniently located along the National Road and close to many popular Laurel Highlands attractions including Nemacolin and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Kentuck Knob. The friendly knowledgeable staff is eager to help with driving directions, dining and lodging recommendations, and suggestions for fun activities and experiences.

Ohiopyle Train Station Visitor Information Center

Ohiopyle Train Station Visitor Information Center

Located in the heart of Ohiopyle and along the Great Allegheny Passage, this seasonal visitor center is a popular stop for bicyclists, hikers and rafters. Peruse the brochure racks and imagine when this facility was a bustling train station, bringing visitors to Ohiopyle for fresh air, outdoor recreation and fun.

Currently, information and maps are available dawn to dusk daily at this visitor center.

Connellsville Visitor Information Center

Connellsville Visitor Information Center

The Connellsville Information Center, opened in April 2021, is situated along the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, within the Yough River Park, adjacent to General Braddock Fish Club, and a short distance from downtown Connellsville.  

The center provides a beautiful welcoming experience to visitors with expansive maps, wayfinding signage and stunning photography and videography showcasing the county’s historic sites, natural beauty and local attractions. Resources such as restaurant menus, guides, maps and brochures will be able available.
