Laurel Highlands Annual Photo Contest

The 2020 Photo Contest is now open

Update: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Laurel Highlands Photo Contest deadline has been extended through December 31, 2020. Winners will be announced early in 2021.

We are seeking photos that tell a story about your visit to the beautiful Laurel Highlands! Enter your photos taken in the Laurel Highlands for a chance to win cash prizes ranging from $100 to $500!

Cash prizes for first, second and third place will be awarded in four categories, and the winning photos will be featured on and in special exhibits throughout the Laurel Highlands. 

The 2020 photo contest categories are:

  • People (Portraits & Experiences)
  • Plants & Animals (Nature)
  • Places (Attractions & Landscapes)
  • Pour Tour (Craft Beer, Wine and Spirits and the people/places that produce them)

Cash prize award amounts:

  • First Place: $500
  • Second Place: $200
  • Third Place: $100

Rules and Guidelines

Only photos taken in the Laurel Highlands (Fayette, Somerset and Westmoreland Counties in Pennsylvania) will be eligible. Use of watermarks on the photo is prohibited. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of submission.

Deadline for submissions is December 31, 2020.

Please attach one high quality image per submission. You may submit an unlimited number of images.

Do not trespass. Stay alert at all times and be aware of your surroundings.

Only full color, high quality, digital photo submissions will be accepted for the contest. Black and white photos will not be accepted.

By submitting an application, the applicant hereby agrees that all photographs submitted shall become property of GO Laurel Highlands® in perpetuity. GO Laurel Highlands reserves the non-exclusive right to use any photograph(s) in its publications or other promotional purposes. By submitting this application and photo, the applicant also acknowledges that any persons appearing in submitted photograph(s) have given the applicant and GO Laurel Highlands consent for reproduction and promotional use.
