America will be celebrating its 250th Anniversary in 2026 and this is an opportunity to attract visitors beyond the Liberty Bell to our beautiful part of Pennsylvania. Planning has already begun in all 3 of our counties, and GO Laurel Highlands wants to spread the word near and far that THIS is the place to visit to experience America’s Semiquincentennial over the next two years. This is a unique chance to work together to showcase our region and we want to help by hosting a Laurel Highlands America’s 250th Summit for everyone who has a stake in this celebration.
Who should attend the LH A250 Summit?
- Cultural Partners (museums, historical societies, nature conservancies, festivals, performance groups, etc)
- Municipal and Local Government Officials and Employees
- Business Partners—especially hospitality, adventure, tour and event organizations
- Educational Partners who want to engage young people
- Interested citizens who want to get involved
Our region’s history pre-dates the Declaration of Independence and gives us a unique opportunity to attract new visitors in 2025 and 2026. We want to polish our assets, invent new and unique visitor experiences and create new collaborations that benefit everyone. Please share the GL A250 Summit with any stakeholders you think could contribute or benefit from the event.
There is still time to strategize, budget and implement impactful plans for America’s 250th. Help us make the Laurel Highlands an America’s 250th destination. Put your thinking caps on and join us for this event!
