HIDDEN VALLEY, Pennsylvania – I’d only visited the Laurel Highlands to ski. Specifically only at Seven Springs, which offers free skiing Mondays in March to anyone with a season ski pass anywhere. (Thank you, Seven Springs.)
But on the way to those days of mogul runs, I had seen signs for Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and thought, I should come back. On my latest trip, I grabbed a visitors guide showcasing rafting in the region’s Youghiogheny River. I was convinced.
