Celebrate the Holiday Season at Downtown Latrobe’s Annual Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe Event
Saturday, December 2, 10 a. m. – 3 p.m.
Latrobe, Pa.— Following Latrobe’s Community Light Up Night scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 30th, families and children of all ages are invited to further celebrate the holiday season in Downtown Latrobe at the annual Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe event on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This annual holiday event will feature a meet and greet with Santa at the James H. Rogers Memorial Park (from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. only) and an additional special appearance by Buddy the Elf. The first 300 children will receive a gift bag sponsored by the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Chamber of Commerce. Additional event activities will include story time with Mrs. Claus and holiday crafts at Adams Memorial Library, Letters to Santa and donated holiday books & board games available for pick up at the GLLV Chamber of Commerce, make your own holiday trail mix with WQED at Latrobe Art Center, snow ball games with Greater Latrobe Parks & Rec, barrel train rides, reindeer food making at Eclectique, Daniel Tiger and Peg+Cat Selfie Stations, DIY snowman kits at Green Goddess, and DIY advent calendars and cookie decorating at Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to downtown eateries, food and beverage vendors will be located on Main St. Local artists will have booths set up inside Latrobe Art Center selling a wide variety of art and handmade jewelry as part of Latrobe Art Center’s annual Holiday Artist Market. Featured at 810 Ligonier St. will be Latrobe Area Historical Society and Latrobe Farmers’ Market vendors and artisan booths.
The annual Holly Jolly Christmas Gingerbread House Contest will also be returning to this year’s event. Creative bakers and builders can submit their Gingerbread House Contest entry forms online at hollyjollylatrobe.com and drop off their completed houses at WCCC-Latrobe where voting by the community will take place Thursday, November 30 - Saturday, December 2. Entry forms are due no later than Wednesday, November 22, and completed houses must be dropped off on Tuesday, November 28 and Wednesday, November 29 at WCCC-Latrobe. Winners will be announced following Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe on Monday, December 4.

It will certainly be the perfect event to get your entire family in the holiday spirit.”
Also on Saturday, December 2, visitors can enjoy live music and entertainment at the intersection of Main and Ligonier Streets, including special performances by Christ the Divine Teacher School Chorus & Instrumentalists, the East End Kids, the Greater Latrobe School District Choral Ensemble, the Hometown Arts Troupe, the Laurel Valley Academy of Dance, and Diamond Dolls Twirling. At WCCC-Latrobe, children and families will have the opportunity to enjoy a special Holiday Magic Show by Magician Steve Haberman.
Holiday shoppers will also have a chance to be rewarded for shopping with downtown merchants and Latrobe Farmers’ Market vendors. Shoppers who visit participating merchants and vendors will receive one holiday raffle ticket for each item purchased for a chance to win a gift basket of local, festive items. Participating merchants include but are not limited to Clips on Mane, Eclectique, the GLLV Chamber of Commerce, Green Goddess, Latrobe Art Center, Mangata Massage & Holistic Practices, Ricolita’s Café, Rose Style Shoppe, Terri’s Gourmet Sweet Treats, The Paper Heart, 512 Coffee & Ice Cream, as well as Latrobe Area Historical Society and the Latrobe Farmers’ Market vendors and artisans.
This exciting, free, community event is organized by Adams Memorial Library, Blue Sky Sign Co., the city of Latrobe, the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Greater Latrobe Parks and Recreation, Headspace Media, Latrobe Area Historical Society, Latrobe Art Center, Latrobe Bulletin, Latrobe Farmers’ Market, the McFeely-Rogers Foundation, Trinity Lutheran Church, WCCC-Latrobe Campus, WQED Education, and Downtown Latrobe merchants.
