The Johnstown Flood National Memorial will host an Evening on the Lake program July 30, with guest speaker Dr. Patrick Farabaugh discussing his new book, “Disastrous Floods and the Demise of Steel in Johnstown.”
Farabaugh is a Professor of Communications at Saint Francis University.
The program begins at 7 p.m. in the Club House building, located at 186 Main Street in St. Michael. It is free and no reservations are required. The Evening on the Lake series is sponsored by the Friends of Johnstown Flood National Memorial.

Johnstown Flood National Memorial was created by Congress in August of 1964 to preserve the ruins of the South Fork Dam and to commemorate the 2,209 lives lost in the Great Flood.
