SOMERSET, PA – The Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial is pleased to welcome Mr. Andrew Ammerman as the organization’s new Executive Director.

In his capacity with the Friends of Flight 93, Mr. Ammerman will lead the operations and strategic planning efforts to ensure the organization meets the needs of today's young visitors while preparing for tomorrow's generation.

Mr. Ammerman brings a vast array of experience, most notably his extensive work with the Pentagon Memorial Fund (Fund) where he served as the Senior Executive Director for more than 13 years. His work with the Fund included managing operations and fundraising as well as developing national partnerships and education outreach programs since the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial groundbreaking. Once the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial opened to the public in 2008, Mr. Ammerman and his consulting firm, CAA Consulting LLC, led the organization’s strategic shift in focus from fundraising for the memorial, to educating the visitors about the memorial, the events on September 11, 2001, and the nation’s response.

Having worked with the National Park Service during the planning and construction of the Flight 93 National Memorial Visitor Center, Mr. Ammerman looks forward to applying his knowledge and experience to advance the mission of the Friends of Flight 93. Mr. Ammerman is honored to represent the organization’s work to ensure the passengers and crew members of Flight 93 are always remembered, and their stories of national heroism are shared with generations to come.
