Visit Historic Hanna’s Town on Thursday, December 28 for Holiday Family Day, a fun day of activities celebrating winter and the holiday season. This is a great way to spend a few hours when the excitement of Christmas fades, but school hasn’t started, and families are looking for something interesting to do.
There will be activities for children including games, puzzles, a scavenger hunt in the Westmoreland 250 exhibit, and crafts, such as winter-themed paper cutting, wooden winter crafts, decorating pomander balls, and much more. Families can also step inside Hanna’s Tavern to enjoy the 18th century log house decorated for Christmas, and cozy up by the warmth of the fire, as Maxine Ruble tells captivating stories about Native American culture and traditions.
Outdoors, take a self-guided walking tour of holiday history along our paths. Stop by signs that explore historical vignettes including the history of Christmas trees, Santa Claus, cards, caroling, and more.
