Third Time for Nemacolin's Lautrec Chef to Be Hosted at the Legendary NYC Establishment

Farmington, Pa. (January 27, 2016) — Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is pleased to announce that Kristin Butterworth, Chef de Cuisine of Lautrec, a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond destination restaurant located at the luxury resort situated just 70 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will cook at the James Beard Foundation in New York City on February 2, 2016.

When Butterworth makes her third appearance at the legendary food foundation for a Five Star Winter Night of Elegance, guests will be treated to a taste of what the European-styled culinary restaurant in rural Pennsylvania has to offer.

“I think guests will be surprised to see something like chicken and waffles on the menu. By cultivating ingredients from Pittsburgh’s backyard and around the world is what makes our dishes truly incredible,” Butterworth said.

Butterworth’s roots run deep both in and around the Pittsburgh area, where she learned about food while watching her “Nonna” cook Sunday dinners for the family. She eventually honed her skills in the Italian culinary arts by studying in Italy.

As the world's youngest female chef to helm a Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond restaurant, Butterworth's young career includes an impressive list of Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond restaurants throughout the country, including the legendary Inn at Little Washington where she worked as one of Patrick O'Connell's Sous Chefs.
“The New York menu is similar to Lautrec’s menu development," explained Butterworth. "I want to surprise guests with some newly inspired combinations and then transport them home with a few classic tastes."

The night’s menu will represent what Butterworth strives to do in Lautrec’s kitchen every day — highlight the best possible produce. The chicken liver is from Footprints Farm (located within minutes from the resort), beef donated from Joyce Farms in North Carolina for this event, truffles from France, cheese from New York state and oysters from Virginia.
