Latrobe, Pa.— On Saturday, February 24th, Latrobe Art Center welcomes the community to a special opening event of a new exhibit in partnership with the Fred Rogers Institute entitled Fred Rogers: Celebrating A Lifelong Helper.

Beginning at 1:00 pm, the opening event will include commentary by the scholars, a children’s activity, and light hors d’oeuvres by Ricolita’s Café. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view artifacts from the Fred Rogers Institute Archives. The event will conclude at 3:00 pm.

Fred Rogers: Celebrating A Lifelong Helper will be the third consecutive exhibit curated by the Fred Rogers Scholars from Saint Vincent College. This exhibit highlights Fred Rogers as a helper throughout his life as well as several of the awards he has received. It will also feature student-selected artifacts from the Fred Rogers Archives.

“We are excited to have the scholars back for their new exhibit and are looking forward to continuing to preserve and spread the legacy of Fred Rogers here at the Art Center,” says Michael Tusay, Latrobe Art Center’s Executive Director. “The students work very hard on this exhibit, and it is great to see it come to life for them.”

The exhibit will run February 24 - March 23 and be available to view by the public during Latrobe Art Center’s regular business hours. The closing event will take place on Saturday, March 23rd from 1:00-3:00 pm.
