The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley is excited to be celebrating another year of serving our wonderful community! "SAMA’s Backyard Bash" is a casual and lively event where you can support the arts while having a blast outdoors. The event will begin with West Overton Distilling serving up cocktails of the finest spirits and freshest ingredients at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Museum. Tickets are $85 per person. The event is open to the public and reservations are required by September 4, 2024. You will not want to miss this autumn adventure!
Inside the museum, we showcase a stunning juried exhibition titled, “Rendering Radiance” from the Pittsburgh Pastel Arts League (PPAL). PPAL is a sole member-supported art organization and a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS), which exists to “unite pastel societies around the world in support of the fine art of pastel”. Gaze at a variety of striking pastel works while delighting in delicious treats provided by Simply Good Catering.
Outside at this fun fall fundraiser, hang out in the Donald M. Robinson Sculpture Park and admire the gorgeous gardens which bloom throughout the seasons! With five-star ratings, get ready for a flavor-packed experience you won't want to miss with the ultimate mouthwatering smoked meats from High on the Hog BBQ food truck. Sit and relax with live music from Braden McDannell in front of the fire pit while you make yourself a smore. Or get your adrenaline pumping with Steel City Axe, the ultimate mobile axe-throwing experience! Also enjoy our traditional annual favorites with games of chance and bidding on exceptional silent auction items from local businesses and organizations.
Throw on your favorite denim and come to SAMA Ligonier for a relaxed evening of fun, friendship, and great food all to help support a fabulous organization! SAMA offers dynamic and enlightening exhibitions which change throughout the year.
