At the “Family Holiday Decoration Days” on December 7, 14, and 21, visitors of all ages will be able to make winter gnome ornaments, yarn trees and/or wreaths, as well as two different kinds of three-dimensional paper snowflakes. Start a new family tradition of making holiday ornaments! Join staff at SAMA Ligonier Valley making fun, one-of-a-kind Holiday decorations for your home and family. Each Saturday in December you can drop by the museum between 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. to make a holiday decoration for your home or tree. An afternoon of making memories, having fun and taking home a holiday ornament (or two) only costs $5!
In a two-day workshop, “Tabletop Tree Trio”, visitors will make three tabletop trees. On Saturday, December 14 and 15 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., students will work with the instructor to create unique trees to be used throughout your home or decorate your holiday dinner table. These colorful and personalized trees are beautiful additions to your holiday decorations. The workshop cost is $30 for two days of creating three trees. Registration is required before December 1, 2024 and materials will be provided.
The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art is located at One Boucher Lane & Route 711 South, Ligonier, PA 15658. The hours of operation are 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The museum is an accessible facility and is open to the public free of charge. We suggest a $5 admission donation to help support SAMA’s free and low-cost educational services, cultural event programming, and regional artistic exhibitions.
