GREENSBURG, PA (November 19, 2024) - The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is excited to announce the return of the annual Museum Shop Holiday Mart, a festive shopping event featuring unique, handcrafted items created by local artisans, and Winter Nights at the Museum, a series of Thursdays with extended late hours that include live music and art-making activities. Admission to Holiday Mart and Winter Nights at the Museum is free.

Holiday Mart

December 5-7

This year's Holiday Mart takes place on Thursday, December 5 from 5 to 8pm; Friday, December 6 from 10am to 5pm; and Saturday, December 7 from 10am to 5pm. Holiday Mart offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, where attendees have the opportunity to browse local artisans’ booths featuring a variety of high-quality handcrafted items. With a wide selection, from stunning jewelry to beautiful ceramics, shoppers are sure to find holiday gifts that are truly special, while supporting local artisans and the Museum at the same time. The event includes complimentary hot chocolate and sweet treats as well as live musical entertainment, creating a festive atmosphere. Free gift-wrapping is provided for all purchases. Additionally, all shoppers save 10% on regular price Museum Shop merchandise both in-store and online, and Museum members enjoy an additional 10% off, making it the perfect opportunity to become a member and take advantage of exclusive benefits. There will also be the opportunity to enter to win exciting raffle prizes.

Winter Nights at the Museum

Thursdays Beginning November 21

The Westmoreland hosts a series of Winter Nights at the Museum featuring art, music and seasonal festivities. These special Thursday evening late hours from 5 to 8pm, beginning Thursday, November 21 and running through Thursday, December 26, are designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Please note the Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, therefore a Winter Night at the Museum will not be presented that Thursday.

On these evenings, visitors may enjoy the Winter Lights display outside and explore the Museum's permanent collection and the Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven featured exhibition inside. Each date will include live performances by local musicians and fun art-making opportunities such as holiday diorama creation, ornament making, and more. Additionally, a complimentary hot chocolate and cookie station will be available as well as a cash bar with a selection of drinks, including a signature holiday cocktail.
