Greensburg, PA (October 3, 2024). Members of Westmoreland Cultural Trust’s staff and board of directors gathered on Wednesday, October 2, to celebrate the legacy and service of 12 past and present board members. The event, hosted at the Greensburg Country Club, one of the Trust’s corporate partners, brought together the 21-member board, senior staff, and key community partners to honor these influential individuals.
Jon Reese, son of former chairman Terrance Reese, summarized their contributions with a heartfelt statement: “The board made sure that the music never died.” Each honoree had served on the board for at least 10 years, with many taking on various committee and executive roles over the year. The following current and past members were honored at Wednesday’s event:
- Robert Boscarino – 12 years of service and former member
- Sean Cassidy – 12 years of service and former member
- Carmen T. Eisaman – 36 years of service and current member
- Barbara Ferrier – 30 years of service and former member
- Ray Follador – 12 years of service and current member
- H. Duffy Friedlander – 20 years of service and current member
- A. Richard Kacin – 27 years of service and current member
- Jamie McHugh – 37 years of service and former member
- T. Terrance Reese – 36 years of service and current member
- Mark Smail – Honored posthumously for six years of service
- Michael Vesely – 30 years of service and current member
- Tom Ward, M.D. – 12 years of service and current member
The honored board members have been pivotal in shaping Westmoreland Cultural Trust’s success over the years. Their leadership and commitment have supported major initiatives, including the ongoing preservation and enhancement of the historic Palace Theatre and Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. Their dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact, allowing the Trust to continue serving the community and expanding its cultural offerings throughout the Laurel Highlands Region.
