Greensburg, PA: Westmoreland Performing Arts Professional Theatre Company will present “Rock of Ages” at WCCC’s Science Hall Theatre at its Youngwood campus February 23 and 24 with both shows starting at 7:30.

The show features long-time local favorite Kevin O’Leary and Tony Marino as Lonny and Dennis Dupree, Greensburg’s Alex Podolinski as the love-struck Drew, Alexa Cikowski as his girl Sherrie, Renata Marino, and Ben Federico.

Rock of Ages takes you back to the time of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical features the hits of bands including, Night Ranger, Foreigner, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister and more. Lonny Barnett, who serves as the show's narrator, sets up the story: In 1987, an aspiring rocker named Drew Boley works as a busboy in the Hollywood bar/club called the Bourbon Room, owned by Dennis Dupree and assisted by Lonny ("Just Like Paradise/Nothin' But a Good Time"). He falls instantly for a girl, Sherrie Christian, who just arrived from Paola, Kansas, hoping to make it big in acting ("Sister Christian"). Drew convinces Dennis to hire Sherrie as a waitress. Then, a pair of German developers, Hertz Klinemann and his son Franz, persuade the city's mayor to abandon the "sex, drugs and rock-n-roll" lifestyle of the Sunset Strip and introduce "clean living" into the area, much to the anger of the City Planner, Regina ("We Built This City"). From there it’s a race to save the Bourbon Room, keep our star-crossed lovers together and enjoy some of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written!

Director Tony Marino on why you will LOVE “Rock of Ages”: “It’s a party! You are going to sing along with pretty much every song, you are going to laugh out loud at things you experienced and missed from the 80’s. You are going to root for the heroes, and long for a time when you listened to the radio, went to see live music and had fun! “Rock of Ages” is all of that and a bag of chips!”
