Idlewild & SoakZone
When you take the family to Idlewild & SoakZone, you’ll truly find experiences for the entire gang to enjoy. SoakZone, the park’s fun-filled water destination, is no exception. The tiniest of tots will enjoy splashing around in the Little Squirts pool area with gushing water features while water-slides and the WOW-abunga wave pool are perfect for the thrill-seekers. And if relaxing poolside or on a float are what you have in mind, you’ll find your place at the Float Away Bay lazy river.
Life’s a Beach!
Did you know that the Laurel Highlands has beaches? Keystone State Park and Laurel Hill State Park both offer sandy shores with designated swimming areas perfect for a no-cost afternoon of fun. Both locations offer facilities and food concessions, or visitors are welcome to picnic on-site. Boat rentals are available as well as on-site camping, so turn your adventure into a weekend getaway. Spots fill up quick though, so reserve your site before traveling!
Ohiopyle State Park
If you’re looking to cool down with a little more high-adventure, then Ohiopyle State Park is the place to be. For a truly unique water-filled experience, check out the natural water slide at Meadow Run. This natural slide made of sandstone rushes riders down the chute and into a cool pool of fresh mountain water. Cucumber Falls is located just steps from the parking area and allows visitors to meander down to the foot of the falls where they can frolic in the pool below. Or visit one of the outfitters in town to book your ride down the Youghiogheny river on a guided or unguided journey. Class I-IV rapid experiences are available, so choose your level of adventure accordingly.
Laurelville
Tucked into the rolling hills and nestled beneath a canopy of greenery, Laurelville offers a truly serene and picturesque mountain retreat. The newly-installed Laurelville Community Pool comes complete with 2 water slides, water sprays, a zero-depth entry, and even heated water! Day guests must call ahead to reserve pool time. Laurelville also offers facilities available for rent for gatherings, retreats, reunions, and even overnight lodging. Guests can also hike the property’s trails, play mini-golf, and more.
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park
The whole family can splash the day away at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park. At Yogi Bear's Wetlands, x marks the spot for toddlers at Pirate Lagoon as they climb aboard the pirate ship for some seafaring fun, duck for cover from the splash bucket, and explore the interactive water features. Bigger kids can conquer Hurricane Mountain with two twisty waterslides while the whole family can relax in the l-shaped pool. In the lower area of the park, you'll find another pool, larger waterslides, and a spray zone area for the little ones. Had enough water fun for the day? Dry off and get ready for more adventure with a giant jumping pad, mini golf, paintball, playgrounds, snowless snow tubing, train, firetruck and wagon rides, and much, much more.
