Maple Bottom Farm

Maple Bottom Farm is family owned and operated. We are a working dairy farm located in the rolling hills and ridges of the Laurel Highlands, just a few minutes drive from the historic coal & coke town of Scottdale where you will discover West Overton Village & Distilling, the birthplace of Henry Clay Frick, Coal & Coke Bike Trail amongst other attractions. The Trail Town of Connellsville, only a few miles away, offers the opportunity for guests to enjoy the Great Allegheny Bike Trail (GAP), 150 mile trail that starts in Pittsburgh and finishes in Cumberland, MD where it connects with the C&O Canal Trail.  We provide a bike trail shuttle service in Dawson, pre-arranged for guests for an additional fee. We are also less than an hour's drive to two Frank Lloyd Wright properties; Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob and the outstanding beauty of Ohiopyle State Park, Whitewater Rafting, GAP Trail, hiking trails and more. The Laurel Highlands offers an abundance of craft breweries, distilleries and wineries to visit, plus many historic sites, attractions, shopping opportunities in walkable, historic downtown settings.

Guests of The Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast can enjoy a farm-stay or agri-tourism activity. Our goal is to provide families with a relaxing, unique experience in our lovingly restored Victorian farmhouse while enjoying the environment of a working farm. We are happy to arrange a farm tour at an additional cost, which will include a tour of our robotic milking facility, feeding area, calves, and allow you to see where your food comes from.

We offer our guests a wholesome farm-to-table breakfast and if you wake up early enough you will have the opportunity to gather eggs for your own breakfast!  Wifi is available throughout the house.  We do not provide televisions in the rooms, but we do have a TV and VCR/DVD player in the living room along with a selection of VCR tapes for your entertainment. Wildlife habitat close to our farm include whitetail deer, turkeys, many bird species and an occasional coyote, fox, and bear. Sit on our porch, unwind, and enjoy the sights and sounds of country living.

Leashed pets are permitted at the B&B only, (not in the sunflower maze) and must show proof of vaccination and flea protection. There is a fee of $25.00/pet with a maximum of two pets.

During late August-early September we offer a sunflower maze that is open to the public Tuesday - Sunday, 10:00am-8:00pm.  No dogs are permitted in the maze.

We look forward to meeting you!
