Northmoreland Park, 548 acres in size, is the largest Westmoreland County Park. The area around Northmoreland Lake is a whirlwind of activity. The lake is stocked by the PA Fish Commission and includes both warm water fish and trout. A 1.1-mile walkway makes a complete circle around the lake and is great for walking, biking, or jogging.

Northmoreland Park also offers pavilion rentals, a BMX track, four baseball fields, six soccer fields, two tennis courts, a basketball court, several creative play areas and a model radio-controlled airfield.

Recreational kayaking and canoeing is permitted from May 1 through October 31, 7:00 am to dusk each year. No special permit is required by the Westmoreland County Bureau of Parks and Recreation. Kayaks and canoes must be properly registered with the PA Fish and Boat Commission. Only canoes and kayaks up to 16 feet in length are permitted on the lakes. No motors of any kind are permitted. All kayaks and canoes must be launched and removed at the designated launch site. All PA Fish and Boat Commission rules and regulations must be strictly followed at all times. All County Park ordinances apply. For more information, please call the Bureau of Parks and Recreation at (724) 830-3950 or click here for the full set of rules.
