Latrobe, Pa.— Creative bakers and builders of all ages are invited to celebrate the holiday season by participating in Downtown Latrobe’s Annual Holly Jolly Gingerbread House Contest!
Now through Wednesday, November 27th, contest participants can access and submit their Gingerbread House Contest entry forms online at hollyjollylatrobe.com or in person at Latrobe Art Center. Houses can be entered under three categories including Youth: Ages 3-12, Teen: Ages 13-17, and Adult: 18+ & Groups (including groups representing local businesses & organizations).
Participants are asked to drop off their completed houses at Latrobe-WCCC on Tuesday, December 3rd and/or Wednesday, December 4th where they will be sorted according to their respective categories and displayed for the community to view, enjoy, and vote on.
Beginning on Thursday, December 5th through Saturday, December 7th, community members will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite gingerbread houses in each category. The top three winners in each category will be announced following Latrobe’s Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe event on Monday, December 9th via the Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe Facebook page.
“We are so excited for the return of this annual, fan-favorite contest” says Michael Tusay, Executive Director of Latrobe Art Center. “Last year’s competition featured some incredible gingerbread creations, and we can’t wait to see what all of the contestants bring to the table this year.”
The Holly Jolly Gingerbread House Contest takes place in conjunction with Latrobe’s Holly Jolly Christmas in Latrobe holiday event organized by Adams Memorial Library, the Greater Latrobe-Laurel Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Greater Latrobe Parks & Recreation, Latrobe Art Center, Latrobe Farmers’ Market, Latrobe Police Dept., Latrobe-WCCC, the McFeely-Rogers Foundation, Saint Vincent College, WQED Education, 107.1 FM WHJB, and local merchants in partnership with the city of Latrobe.
