Second annual event to be held Sunday, Oct. 27 at Yinzer Valley Farms
GO Laurel Highlands is bringing 20 craft beverage makers from its popular Pour Tour program to one location for the Bonfires, Barrels & Boos event on Sunday, Oct. 27.
A limited number of tickets are available online for the event, which will be held, rain or shine, from noon to 5 p.m. at Yinzer Valley Farms, an event space and cidery located at 681 Mulberry Hill Road in Mount Pleasant. Patrons must be 21 or older, and a valid photo ID is required for entry.
“The Laurel Highlands Pour Tour has become so popular and recognizable over the years that people were clamoring for the chance to visit multiple craft beverage partners in one location,” said Jennifer Benford, senior director of marketing for GO Laurel Highlands. “Last year’s inaugural event was an incredible success, with nearly 800 attendees, and this year’s Bonfires, Barrels & Boos is expected to draw even more participants. Those who came to last year’s event have been telling us how excited they are to return to Yinzer Valley Farms this year, and those who missed out last time have been quick to order tickets so that they can join in the fun.”
“The opportunity to sample a variety of delicious craft beers, wines, ciders, meads and spirits really draws people from around the region,” Benford said. “Add in live music, food trucks, vendors and the chance to cozy up beside a bonfire on a fall day in the beautiful Laurel Highlands countryside, and it’s easy to see why folks are so excited about it.”
Lori Joseph of Greensburg has collected stickers from more than 45 locations on the Pour Tour 4.0 passport. She and a group of friends travel throughout the Laurel Highlands each weekend to visit a Pour Tour property, and she said the Bonfires, Barrels & Boos event – which she attended last year – offers a chance to try even more locally made beverages.
“I’m interested to see if there are places that we haven’t visited yet,” she said. “(Yinzer Valley Farms is) a great location because it can accommodate that whole group, and it has plenty of parking. It was a great time last year.”
When craft beverage enthusiasts make a qualified purchase, they receive a sticker from the beverage maker for verification in the passport or they can submit a photo to the digital app to qualify for prizes from GO Laurel Highlands.
A $40 Bonfires, Barrels & Boos ticket includes a Pour Tour event passport sticker, tasting glass and beverage check for purchases as well as access to vendors, food trucks and live music. Designated drivers can purchase tickets for $30.
